On July 28, 2006, he inked a $37.50 million, six-year contract with the Packers. Of that amount, $14.76 million was guaranteed, and he received a $1.91 million signing bonus.

It wasn’t until the Packers’ season opener against the Chicago Bears on September 24, 2006, that Hawk got to play in his first NFL game. Hawk recorded a total of five tackles—three solo and one for a pass deflection—in a game in which the Packers were defeated by a score of 26-0.

But the Falcons only kept Hawk for 21 days before releasing him on October 25, 2016. He made the announcement on a podcast with Albert Breer on January 7, 2017, that he was retiring from professional American football.
