After Amy’s time in the college improv group sparked an interest in comedy in her, she uprooted her life and headed to Chicago to take her first professional improv class at ImprovOlympic. At this period, Poehler crossed paths with Tina Fey. Together, they became members of Second City’s touring company. Poehler later joined the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), a troupe that specializes in improv and sketch comedy. Among the four UCB members who relocated to New York City in 1996 was Poehler.
