Career
German-British citizens were naturalized there. Since Bower has not yet published an autobiography, it is somewhat difficult to find information regarding her early schooling and the schools she attended from elementary school through college. Nevertheless, it is known that she attended a school in London and began working as a Field Language Supervisor for the International Refugee Organization (IRO) in Germany not long after graduation.
Shortly after the IRO was disbanded, Bower moved to Canada to be with her family. At a tiny town radio station, she got a job as a disc jockey and songwriter. She would eventually find employment with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. But her lightbulb moment came in 1960, when Bower went to Los Angeles and, sadly, got her first guest spot on television. Later on, she took on more opportunities that ultimately led her to make Los Angeles her permanent home. She had a career in theater, but her main acting gig was on television. “Too versatile for herself” is one way many have put it. What more could you want from an intelligent, dedicated actress?
She has been acting for forty years, appearing in around fifty films and TV shows. Her most famous role was in the Canadian series Neonreiter, which ran from 1989 to 1992 and had her in 42 episodes. From 1990 to 1992, the show ran on CTV, then from 1992 to 1995, it ran on YTV. She has guest starred on numerous other hit programs, including Star Trek, Mission: Impossible, Murder, The Twilight Zone, The Invaders, She Wrote, Ben Casey, Fight, Columbo, The Fugitive, and The Six Million Dollar Man, among others. Along with the stunning Shelly Winters, she has collaborated with industry heavyweights Christopher Plummer, Michael Pataki, and Christopher Lloyd.
A cherry on top of Antoinette Bower’s career was her cinema roles. The Evil Men Do (1984), Bloodsong (1982), Prom (1980), Time Walker (1982), The Sister (1972–1978), Die! (1972–1978), and Club Paradise (1986) are a few of them. Antoinette Bower shocked admirers in 1995 when she decided to withdraw from acting, after a successful career. Decades after her apparent return from her real-life work and genuine retirement, it became evident that she had more than just a temporary hiatus, as many had assumed.
Antoinette Bower’s Personal Life
Antoinette, like many famous people, prefers to keep her personal life out of the spotlight, thus fans know virtually little about her.
A romantic relationship between Bower and character actor Theodore Marcuse, another iconic figure from the 1950s and 1960s, was supposedly going on back in the day. The Twilight Zone, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” “Star Trek,” and dozens of others were among his more than twenty television appearances. Nothing was ever confirmed or revealed by any of them, despite the speculations.
