On Bhadli Navami, particularly in northern India, those who are having difficulty getting married can get married. This day also signifies the conclusion of Gupt Navratri, so it is extremely fortunate.
As Chatur Mas begins two days after Ekadasi, Bhadli Navami is the final day for marriage, and the next marriage muhurat cannot be determined for four months.
Bhadli Navami Celebrations
As Bhadli Navami corresponds to the final day of Hindu marriages each year, Hindu communities commemorate it to the fullest extent. The majority of Hindu communities observe this day as a holiday. Other names for the celebration include Bhatali Navami, Kandarp Navami, and Ashara Shukla Paksha Navami. The sacred texts are also read for the purpose of passing on the teachings. The devotees also chant the melodies that have been composed in the Lord’s honour.
Significance of Bhadli Navami
Since Chaturmas begins the day after Devshayani Ekadashi, Bhadli Navami is the last and finest date for auspicious marriages and all auspicious activities. During these four months, the deities rest, so no auspicious labour is performed. This is why, on the day of Bhadli Navami, it is permissible to marry without regard to the auspicious hour. Additionally, Gupta Navratri concludes on Bhadli Navami. On this day, shopping and establishing a new business brings the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and prosperity to the home.
