Career
In 1992, Outkast inked a deal with LaFace Records. Their debut single, “Player’s Ball” (1993), peaked at number one on the “Billboard” Hot Rap Tracks chart. Released on April 26, 1994, their debut album, “Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik,” went platinum and peaked at #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #20 on the “Billboard” 200. Success followed for Outkast with 1996’s “ATLiens,” which peaked at #2 on the “Billboard” 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, in addition to going 2x Platinum.
All of their subsequent albums reached #2 on the “Billboard” 200, with the exception of 2003’s “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below,” which reached #1.
