After coming in second place on the World Surf League tour in 2019, she became the youngest surfer to qualify for the every four years Olympics in Tokyo. Marks came in fourth place overall, and Japanese rider Amuro Tsuzuki won the bronze award.
The American surfer dropped out of the 2022 World Surf League. He later said it was because of ongoing health and mental problems. After a year away, she came back to the spotlight and made her mark on the tour by winning the World Surf League Finals 2023 in Lower Trestles, California.
