It was produced by the St. Louis-based Trak Starz and included musicians such as Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Murphy Lee, I-20, Trina, and Jermaine Dupri. The album, which was released on Disturbing Tha Peace, was really distributed through Capitol Records, according to an arrangement that Ludacris managed to secure. Not only did the album do well with listeners and critics alike, but the RIAA also certified it Platinum within a year of its release.

Capitol Records and Chingy’s own label, Slot-A-Lot Records, released “Powerballin” on November 16, 2004, after Chingy departed from Disturbing Tha Peace. R. Kelly, Bun B, Lil Wayne, Janet Jackson, Nate Dogg, David Banner, and countless more were among the guest artists featured. At over a million copies sold, “Powerballin” joined his debut album “Jackpot” in earning the RIAA’s Platinum certification.

Also, “Need for Speed: Underground 2” (2004) used the album’s lead hit “I Do” on its soundtrack. In 2004, he and his manager Stan Wright founded Slot-A-Lot Records, which is currently called Full Dekk Music Group. Soulo, Young Swift, Chris Woodhouse, Don Trip, and SmallTalk are among the artists signed to the label.

Released on September 19, 2006, “Hoodstar” was Chingy’s third studio album. The album features contributions from Timbaland, Mr. Collipark, and Jermain Dupri. On the Billboard 200 album list, it debuted at No. 8, and the single “Pullin Me Back” made it onto the Hot Rap Tracks chart. The RIAA only awarded it a Gold certification, indicating that it was not as successful as his previous two albums.
