Rapper Ludacris and his manager Chaka Zulu signed Chingy to Disturbing Tha Peace, Ludacris’s record label, after they caught her attention. A huge success, Chingy’s “Right Thurr” (May 2003) reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was the label’s first release. Released on July 15, 2003, his debut album “Jackpot” followed this. It was produced by the St. Louis-based Trak Starz and included musicians such as Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Murphy Lee, I-20, Trina, and Jermaine Dupri. The album, which was released on Disturbing Tha Peace, was really distributed through Capitol Records, according to an arrangement that Ludacris managed to secure.
