Career
Beginning his career in the entertainment industry as a comic, Nelson was a founding member of the Los Angeles-based Groundlings improv and sketch comedy group. On top of that, he was a member of the comic trio that frequently appeared at the comic Store alongside Rudy De Luca and Barry Levinson. But Nelson became dissatisfied with this line of employment and relocated to the little rural town of Montgomery Creek, California. He worked as a high school teacher, janitor, plumber, surveyor, and carpenter, among many other odd occupations.
