Following her 1965 Miss District of Columbia USA crown, Dian Parkinson launched a successful modeling career.

That year, she competed as DC’s representative at Miss USA and placed fourth. She competed in and placed second at the Miss World pageant that same year.

When Dian was just starting out as a model, she got the chance to collaborate with Bob Hope, an actor and comedian.

In addition to her work as a model and performer at the Bob Hope British Classic golf event, she accompanied his crew on their USO Show tour.

In 1974, Dian made her television debut in the film “Jerry,” directed by Hal Cooper. It was in 1975, after she made a guest appearance on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” that her television career really took off.
