Career
In her early days with the government, Fani Willis worked as a prosecutor for cases involving infractions of local ordinances and misdemeanors. For sixteen years, she was an assistant district attorney for Fulton County. Her prosecution of the Atlanta Public School fraud scandal was her most high-profile case.
She was the primary prosecutor in the 2014–2015 trial of twelve educators accused of editing student responses on state-administered standardized exams, a position she held while serving as an assistant district attorney.
In April 2015, eleven out of the twelve were found guilty of fraud in accordance with Georgia’s RICO classification. The year 2018 saw her transition into solo practice. She unsuccessfully sought election to the Fulton County Superior Court that year.
