Famous Iranian singer Faegheh goes under the stage name Googoosh. Her numerous songs and award-winning performances in films like “Bita” in 1973 propelled the Iranian pop singer and actress to popularity in the 1960s and 1970s. Her extraordinary fashion sense was interpreted by orthodox Iranians as a rebellion.
Her father saw that she could imitate famous singers when she was three years old and urged her to pursue a career in show business. In the 1970s, Googoosh catapulted Iranian pop music to unprecedented heights of popularity and success.
