The Vaishnava Kamika Ekadashi falls on the Ekadashi Tithi, which is the eleventh day of the Krishna Paksha in the Hindu calendar’s Shravana month. It falls in the month of Sridhar, according to the Vaishnava calendar. Devotees worship Lord Vishnu on this day. For Vaishnavas, the Vaishnava Kamika Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious and significant Ekadashi festivals.

This is due to the fact that it occurs during the Chaturmas season, which is an auspicious four-month period dedicated to Lord Krishna, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu. The Hare Krishna devotees’ Vaishnava Kamika Ekadashi Vrat is an important fasting rite.

Kamika Ekadashi Significance

Lord Krishna was asked about Shravan Krishna Ekadashi by Kuntiputra Dharmaraja Yudhishthira. “O Yudhishthira,” the Lord said, “I will tell you the story of Kamika Ekadashi that Brahmaji told to Devarshi Narada.”

Brahmaji had told Narad Muni that Krishna Ekadashi in the Shravan month is known as Kamika Ekadashi, according to Lord Krishna. And whosoever observes this Ekadashi will reap the benefits of the Vajpeya Yagya. We gain a lot of merit by worshipping Lord Vishnu with a conch shell, chakra, and mace on this day. To cleanse oneself of sins, one should perform Kamika Ekadashi.

The soul does not attain Kuyoni by observing Kamika Ekadashi, but by offering Tulsi to Lord Vishnu, one is free of all sins. Gems, pearls, gems, four loads of silver, and one load of gold make up this Tulsi donation. When a person waters a Tulsi plant in his home, his or her sins and afflictions go away, and he or she becomes pure.

Lord Krishna, while explaining the significance of Ekadashi to Yudhishthira in the Padma Purana, says that Ekadashi is the best of all the fasts, like Sheshnag among serpents, Garuda among birds, Lord Vishnu among gods, Peepal among trees, and Brahmins among human beings.
