Career

Léon set a new French record of 4:16.37 in the 400-meter individual medley in August 2019 at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Budapest, where he also won bronze. In addition to his 10th-place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke and fifteenth-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke, he finished seventh in the 200-meter individual medley and the 200-meter butterfly.

In the 400-meter individual medley, Léfor set a new national mark of 4 minutes, 9.65 seconds at the 2021 French Elite Swimming Championships in Chartres, securing a spot on the French team and allowing him to compete in his first Olympics. While competing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he achieved sixth place in the 400m individual medley, tenth in the 4×100m medley relay, fourteenth in the 200m butterfly, and eighteenth in the 200m individual medley.

Marchand went to Atlanta, Georgia, in March 2022 to compete in the NCAA Division I Championships. His time of 1 minute, 37.69 seconds was good enough to win the 200-yard individual medley at the US Open, the NCAA Championships, and the NCAA itself. He finished second in the 4×100-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard individual medley, in addition to winning the 200-yard breaststroke.

Marchand represented Hungary at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest in June of that year. In the 400-meter individual medley, he first broke the French record in the preliminary round, and then in the final, he won gold by setting new records in Europe and the championships with a time of 4 minutes, 4.28 seconds. In addition to his 200-meter butterfly silver medal, he took first place in the 200-meter individual medley.

The 200-yard breaststroke, 400-yard individual medley, and 200-yard individual medley were all gold medal events for Marchand at the 2023 NCAA Championships, continuing her impressive streak. In addition to his bronze medal in the 4×100-yard freestyle relay, he earned silver in the 4×50-yard medley relay and the 4×200-yard freestyle relay.
