Marty began mentoring other mountaineers by sharing his knowledge and insights. Over four decades, beginning in 1986, he gained extensive experience leading other climbs to the summit of the peak. The reality show “Ultimate Survival Alaska” catapulted Marty to stardom at a young age. May 12, 2013, was the premiere date of the reality show on National Geographic Channel. But the reality show ended in March 2015 after three seasons.
In 2016, another TV show called “Homestead Rescue” included Marty. Matt, his son, and Misty, his daughter, were also on the program.
