Career
As a sportscaster for ESPN, Mike debuted in 1991. He started ESPN’s sportscasting career. Countdown to Monday Night on ESPN is just one of several shows that Mike Tirico has hosted from the studio for both ESPN and ABC. He went on to co-host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 UEFA Euro, and in 2009 he presided over the US Open, a tennis tournament. His tenure at ESPN came to an end in this role. He officially took over for Al Michaels as the play-by-play announcer for Thursday Night Football on NBC on May 31, 2017.
