The pursuit of financial security and a comfortable lifestyle outside of the projects was paramount.
Following his signing of his hip-hop group Relative to the record label Relative, Juicy J established Hypnotize Minds and signed Patrick to it.
Houston began his rapping career in the early ’90s, when he appeared on early Juicy J singles with DJ Paul.
Project Pat’s 1999 solo album, Getty Green, was finally ready for release.
His membership in the Three 6 Mafia gang was the impetus for Houston’s rise to fame and success as a rapper. He sang a guest spot and wrote the song’s hook for “Sippin’ on Some Syrup” in the year 2000.
The song was on the Hot 100 list for four weeks, reaching a peak of number two. Music videos from the album were shown on channels like MTV, and two of the tracks were featured on national radio.
With the help of Juicy J and DJ Paul’s production and La’ Chat’s vocals, the single “Chickenhead” propelled Mista Don’t Play: Everythang’s Workin into the top 5.
Following the 2002 release of Layin Down the Smack, the rapper’s career took off, with five additional albums that did well on the Billboard 200. In 2005, Crook by da Book: The Fed Story reached a peak of number 64.
Crook by da Book’s first week of sales was 40,000.
Project Pat’s fifth album under their new label, E1, would be Walkin’ Bank Roll, which would debut at position 45 on the Billboard 200 album list.
