Career

There were some difficulties along the way to Ramon and his group’s meteoric journey to fame. Cornelio Reyna decided to go solo in mariachi music in 1971, therefore he left the group. Nevertheless, Antonio Sauceda, a singer, replaced Cornelio in the band. In light of the modifications, the band had to rename itself Ramón Ayala y los Bravos Del Norte.

Cornelio passed away in 1997, despite the fact that he and Ramon had made an album together in 1995 titled Juntos Para Siempre. To make matters worse, Antonio also quit the band to attend a Christian seminary, where he furthered his faith. The brother of Ramon, along with Elisio Robles, became members of Satellites de Fidencio Ayala shortly thereafter. After achieving a distinct sound in Norteño music, the new group achieved success. The greatest achievement of Ramón Ayala y Sus Bravos del Norte has been the success of their albums in both Mexico and the United States.

Eliseo Robles left the group in 1990, and singer Antonio Coronado came in to replace him, just as Ramon was enjoying their newfound success. Unfortunately, Antonio left the band later that year (1992), therefore Ramon was without a lead singer. Mario Marichalar, the present lead singer, became a member of Ramon in 1993. The two artists aimed to appeal to a younger audience by incorporating a fresh sound into their songs. Will the departure from the Ranchera style offer positive news, being one of the founders of current Norteño music?
