Robert got his start in the entertainment industry in the 1950s. In 1950, he made his film debut in the untitled picture “The Happy Years.” At the tender age of twenty-one, he signed with Twentieth Century Fox. “Halls of Montezuma,” set during World War II and released in 1951, was his debut picture for Fox. In addition to Wagner, Richard Widmark was in a supporting role.
