At the young age of eight, Shawnee made her professional acting debut in a repertory production of “A Christmas Carol.” At fifteen years old, she took part in a theatrical production.
The 1978 McDonald’s commercial “Best Friends” was her first television appearance, while 1982’s “Annie” was her first feature film. At the young age of nine, she became a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
