All You Need to Know about Tatkalik Maitri In Astrology
Tatkalika Maitri is a phrase used in Hindu astrology to describe friendship. In astrology, various types of maitri (friendship) are discussed. The first is tatkalika maitri, which literally translates to “temporary companionship.”
The planets can be Mitra (mutual friends), Shatru (enemies) or Sama (neutral).
Friendship or enmity is both naisargika (permanent) and tatkalika (temporary).
The tatkalika maitri is determined by the positions of the planets in each horoscope.
First Type of Maitri
If a planet is placed at 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th and 12th from the other, these two planets are mutually temporary friends. The same may be said for the remaining slots, which are temporary enemies.
Second Type of Maitri
The naisargika maitri is the second type of maitri (permanent friendship or enmity).
Third Type of Maitri
Pancadha maitri, a combination of naisargika and tatkalika maitri, is the third type of Maitri (permanent and temporary friendship).
Thus planets have five categories of friendship or enmity:
Naisargika Mitra + Tatkalika Mitra = Ati Mitra
Naisargika Shatru + Tatkalika Shatru = Ati Shatru
Naisargika Mitra + Tatkalika Shatru = Sama
Naisargika Shatru + Tatkalika Mitra = Sama
Naisargika Sama + Tatkalika Mitra = Mitra
Naisargika Sama + Tatkalika Shatru = Shatru
These types of relationships are used to determine the power of the planets in a person’s horoscope.
