The couple, Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling, are allegedly “spending time apart” due to relationship problems, four years after their glamorous, fairytale wedding.
At last week’s posh Serpentine Summer Party in London, the 36-year-old singer was seen without her engagement ring. After the event, the 33-year-old art dealer went to Chiltern Firehouse with pals, suggesting that the couple went their separate ways.
Arthur, the couple’s first child, was born in 2021 to the parents-who had started dating in 2017. A pandemic pregnancy was a shock to everyone; the couple hadn’t anticipated it, she explained to Vogue.

Who is Caspar Jopling?
At the age of 33, Jopling has found success as an art dealer with the world-famous White Cube gallery. He has recently completed an MBA program at Oxford and has five years of experience working as a fine art broker in New York at the prestigious Sotheby’s.
He attended Eton School throughout his formative years before transferring to Harvard University to major in film studies and art history. He was born in Yorkshire. He was a member of Harvard’s rowing squad and participated at a national and international level, including in 2010 when he represented Great Britain in the Youth Olympics. Jopling “has been rowing pretty much every single day since September,” according to Goulding’s Instagram post about Jopling’s return to rowing at Oxford.
The fact that he was initially thought to be a professional athlete made Goulding laugh, as he quipped, “People keep saying Caspar is a Team GB rower — it’s kind of got out of hand now but we find it really funny.”

He began his career in the auction industry after finishing college, interning at Christie’s before settling in for the long haul at Sotheby’s, a rival auction house in New York. He has an author page on the Huffington Post and has written a couple of art reviews here and there.
Perhaps his uncle Jay Jopling’s investment in Princess Eugenie’s former company, Paddle8, is the reason he is such a close friend of hers. Queen Eugenie, who is also involved in the art world, was pictured by Jopling at Art Basel Miami in 2016 next to a “very sexy” photo.
