Do You Know Why Shri Krishna Never Married Radha? These Could Be The Reasons

Article Rating 3.5/5

The love story of Radha and Krishna is regarded as one of the best of all time.

The chants of Radhe Radhe may still be heard today when people visit the Braj Bhoomi.  Mathura, Vrindavan, and the surrounding Gokul districts are all part of the Braj Bhoomi, which is linked to Shri Krishna’s early existence.

Worshippers either praise Radha or refer to Krishna as Radhe Krishna, which means Radha’s Krishna. As a result, the names of Radha and Krishna are spoken in unison, as if they are one and the same person.

As per scriptures, Shri Krishna did not marry Radha during his stay in the Prithvi Lok. He married Rukmini and Satyabhama instead.

As the staunch devotees of Shri Krishna, we always wonder why didn’t Krishna marry Radha, whom he adored and with whom he was in love.

Here are 6 different Hypotheses that explains, why Shri Krishna didn’t Marry Radha

  1. Radha and Krishna, according to one of the ideologies, were never two separate entities. They were, in reality, one. As a result, how could Krishna and Radha marry while they were one?
  2. Another view holds that Radha represents Jeevatma, whereas Shri Krishna represents Paramatma. The finest type of devotion was Radha’s, unselfish love. As a result, she surrendered herself and blended with Shri Krishna. As a result, there was no need for marriage because she had merged with him.
  3. And, if another tradition about Radha and Krishna is to be believed, the two were unable to marry due to their separation. Shridhama’s curse caused Radha and Krishna to be separated.  Shridhama was Shri Krishna’s friend and devotee, and he considered that Bhakti (devotion) was more important than Prem. As a result, he did not want Radha’s name to be spoken before Krishna’s. Shridhama became so enraged with Radha one day that he cursed her, stating she would lose her memory and forget everything about Krishna. As a result of stating so, he sentenced her to a hundred years in Patal Loka. This incident occurred shortly after Lord Brahma requested that Krishna take birth on Earth as Lord Vishnu’s ninth avatar. Krishna did not marry Radha as a result.
  4. According to another interpretation, Krishna is connected with Radha in order to convey the value and strength of love. Without love, the world would not exist, and Radha and Krishna’s relationship exemplifies the power of this passion.
  5. Radha and Krishna’s marriage is also thought to have been postponed because they wished to establish the true meaning of love. They attempted to persuade the world that love is about giving rather than receiving. As a result, pure love is not bound by an agreement, but rather flourishes when it is free.
  6. Last but not least, Radha and Krishna had a spiritual bond. It was more important than earthly pleasures, regulations, and laws. There was no need for marriage because they were spiritually united.
